Union Meeting House ~ Zion's Church
MRA Project - 80 North Waterford Avenue
This 1818 brick building served as a meeting place for most of Marietta’s Protestant churches
while they raised funds to build their own meeting places. MRA restored the exterior of
the building to its original appearance. Interior work has included the restoration of the
original vaulted ceiling and the 1850s balcony.
A unique 1847 pipe organ built by Henry Knauff of Philadelphia was donated in 2008. In 2007,
MRA had the entire interior andexterior of the building repainted and in 2010 the kitchen and
rest room were renovated. Union Meeting House is Marietta’s oldest surviving public building
and is available for rent for private functions.
